I think it is very important to take some time for yourself. Otherwise you will burn out or feel taken advantaged of. I tried to make sure I could still work on a hobby. I like to embroider. She actually liked trying to help me by giving me the color I needed.

what are you doing?

I know my mom is still early in the developmental stages, but it is still nice to "get away" sometimes". I play sports several nights a week during the summer and darts in the winter. My dad spends a lot of time with her so I try to give him a break as well so he can do his thing.

That is so nice of you. I am sure Dad appreciates the help you are giving him. Great job.

Dad is in another province. So I am a long distance care-giver. But it feels like I never really get away from the problem. I think if I was there with him and could leave and go on a little trip, it might feel differently. But I just worry all the time.
