I thought it might be nice if you could help each other. I found that showing her pictures and letting her talk about them was good. She seemed to enjoy telling me old stories repetively.

Another thing I did was take her out to eat occasionally. It really brightened her day. It tok a lot of patience for the waitress as she would forget what she ordered. Also I would reccomend getting something small as I noticed that if the plate looked "too full" she wouldnt want to eat.

Now its your turn to share.

It seems that my mom loves to go for drives and just look around at everything. Since she can no longer drive, she loves to get out of the house and do things. She as well enjoys eating out.

It seems that she is comfortable with certain people, but not with others. With my dad and myself she will do anything that we pretty much say. But with other fmaily members, she is reluctant to go places as much.

My mother is usually very preoccupied with knitting and soewing as well. She actually still makes stuff for coffee and end tables (not sure what they are called) and dresses for christenings.

She loves watching movies as well. She can always tell if she has saw a movie before so i can nenver watch the same movie with her, she always says that i saw that before.

Just a few things that she likes doing.

Best Regards

Andrew

My dad is the same about food. Too much on a plate overwhelms him. If there is one thing, and you tell him it is chicken, he is okay. But if there are multiple things, he cant decide what he is supposed to eat first and what everything is called. Plus his taste buds seem to be affected by the many meds he is on.

My dad does not like a lot of noise, he is confused by movies and books. The news on tv makes him upset. The other day my brother took him for a walk with his walker, and he seemed to enjoy that. Also he likes listening to music, esp the 'old' stuff - big bands, Andrews sisters and etc.

Noise does bother them a lot. Books have to be simple. My mom enjoyed poems and familiar Bible verses.I used to sing to her also. She would join in. I really enjoyed that. I'm sorry I need to compose myself. I miss when I used to sing duets with her at churches.

Okay now Im ok. Mom would have trouble following stories on tv and movies didnt make sense to her. I had wished I could have had her see the Shirley Temple movies as she grew up with them.
