Nice to meet everyone,

I am so ashamed i just need some place to talk to others. I can't seem to find the right people for this.

I was diagnosed with early stage alzheimer disease last week. I haven't told my family yet.

It all started a few weeks ago when I noticed I probably have some short term memory loss.

I am only 51. This is so bad!

I need some people to talk to.

Welcome to the forum!

Please, please, please don't be ashamed!!! You haven't done anything to be ashamed of. You didn't invite this into your life. EOAD (Early Onset Alz Disease) invaded your life.

Sweetie, at some point you're going to have to tell your family. You are going to need a support system that you can reach out and touch and hug and receive hugs from. It's okay if you need a bit more to process all of this yourself first.

Maybe you could take one family member (one that is the closest to you) into your confidence to begin with and expand from there.

I look forward to getting to "know" you better Please let us know how you're doing.

Hi xz23 - welcome!

(I'm new too).

I totally agree with our friend. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF.

Our body takes us to various places we have no control over.

your family has to know! they will support you (its not as Alzheimer's Disease is contagious).

anyhow - we'll be here for you when you want.

Hello xz23

You are not alone in this. I thought it was rare for someone to be diagnosed at the age of 51, but I guess not. I'm knew to the situation as well, hopefully we can learn from everyone hear.

It sounds like everyone here is willing to help you.

Andrew
