Jim!!!!!!!

I am speechless, and that is not a condition in which I usually find myself.

That is just one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. You never cease to amaze me...you also are full of surprises, good ones...

Hey Norma, I remember when I took my one year chip, was the first time in my life I remember my Mom ever saying she was proud of me..

When I first decided to reach out and get help, Mom wasn't all that thrilled about it, one she was losing her drinking Buddie, and two, she's of the school you don't let anyone know you have a problem, Lord forbid should the neighbors find out..lol.

She told me, "but you can quit the drinking on your own, and the drugs on your own can't you?" told her yeah, I probably could, but I could not live, I had to relearn how to live life with out the booze...

I've since gone on to take 14 more of those chips..

OH, Carmen, that is so cool...I didn't know what they were...thanks, they are chips..neat. I quit the first time for 8 years...I knew I had a problem.. I would get 2 bottles of wine for dinner one for me and one for everyone else...anyway, I decided to be sober over a year ago, I was downing a bottle of Grey Goose on ice...and pouring another one and my sweet son, looked at me and said, Momma I don't like it when you drink....I said son you are right. Poured the rest down the sink...and quit....haven't had a drink since. I was getting drunk every night before that...whiskey and vodka..I was in the last stages because I would drink and drink and couldn't get a buzz on anymore...that meant my liver wasn't able to process the alcohol...not good. Besides I am a mean drunk...want to fight...box like prize fight...crazy...anyway, thanks so much...

Your welcome Norma, what they look like is a coin, with the year(s) that you have on them, and a AA slogan, will have to find where i put mine, and will tell you what it says, or Jim could probably tell you, they make medallions, key chains, etc.. out them.

You know your in trouble when the kid says something, Thank God you listened..

Carmen, you are so right....I had quit years before they were born at one point....then when they were ages 8 and 11 we went camping in the mountains...in Colorado...kind of camping where you have walk in 20 minutes...and there is meadow...with a stream running through it...about the second night some friends went into town and got a case of Canyon Blush wine cooler stuff...I started drinking and finised off 2 bottles myself....I was so sick...and my poor kids were so upset...the hangover the next day...was enough to kill a normal person...8,000 ft...is not a place to have a hangover...I remember howling at the full moon...not pretty....So yes they were glad I quit drinking finally a year and and 4 mos ago...I appreciate your support, thanks, Norma
