Welcome Maggie!!!!!! How are you doing? Have you tried to get help for your addiction? I see you posted in another group I'm in. You stopped one, are you going to stop drinking alcohol? Have you ever tried going to an AA meeting or into a treatment program? It is what saved my life! I switched addictions several times before I finially got into treatment and then recovery. Ive been in recovery for many years now and wouldn't give it up for anything! I like my life now! You can get there too!

I'm here if you'd like to talk! You can PM me anytime! Your friend, Chris

Thank you, Maggie.

It took courage to say that, didn't it?

Do you want to stop drinking?

Respectfully,

Jim

Hi, Autumn, can you tell us why you have quit going to AA? if it wasn't for the 12 step program, I would not be here today..

As a alcoholic myself, I can remember what seemed like good times when I was drunk, but I can remember even more times I have enjoyed myself sober, and the simple fact that I can remember this morning what it was I did last night..

Thanks, Carmen, for your encouraging comment.

As a recovering alcoholic/addict, I had to come to terms with my fear of life without booze and drugs.

I knew I could stop for a few hours or even a day or more, but I COULD NOT IMAGINE living for keeps without booze and drugs!

However, thanks to you, Carmen, and others who have experienced the joy and promise of a sober life, I came to believe that I too could live that sober life.

As YOU said, Autumn, at first I both DID and DIDN'T want to quit; but people like Carmen, and now hundreds of other people in my life, assured me that they have done it and that I can do it too. They promised me a better life, and they offered themselves and their own lives as example--proof that there is a better way to live--proof that I don't have to live anymore in the pain of my addiction.

I ask you again, Autumn, "Do you want to quit? Are you willing to go to any lengths to escape the pain of your addiction?"

With greatest respect,

Jim
