scotty04901"MDJ to me is an added phase in my recovery as a 44 year survivor of a TBI. I hope that with what I have lived through in those years, will be able to help all those who are just now going through. It is important to understand that even after 44 yrs, I am continuing to recover and to evolve. I just hope I can help others." (scotty04901)

Hello, I am finally admitting that i need help and need to quit drinking. I'm fairly young but have been drinking heavily for over a decade now. I was just looking to be able to speak with people that are going through the same problems or who have overcome them and any tips on how to cope would be nice.

I'm an Advocate

Welcome to the group, Zealot. You have taken the first all important step of recognizing and admitting that you have a problem. From here you can begin your journey to lifelong sobriety. I have been sober for 26 years now and I remember very well those early days of coming off alcohol. Feel free to ask the questions you have. One thing I will add, I was truly saved by AA, so I encourage you to find a group and go to meetings. That face-to-face support is the best means of getting help to stay sober.
