salishgirl, I was just wondering if you went to the Emergency Room and if you are alright. Let me know when you can. Hope that you are able to get the help that you want and need. Hang in there and do not ever give up!

You can do this and you will get thru this difficult time in your life. Smile

Hey guys Smile

Yes I went to the ER yesterday and I wasn't very satisfied with my visit. I was there for four hours and in the end was only given Ativan (Lorezepam). They said they could not give me something long term because i would have to be seeing a doctor regularly so they gave me ativan and said to keep my appt on Thursday with my school to get on something else like zoloft (or similar). They didn't even let me see a therapist and instead had me talk to a crisis intervention specialist who I didn't feel comfortable spilling my guts to since she wasn't qualified.

So I just have to get through to Thursday and I'm doing alright, but not fabulous. It was definitely an experience going to the ER which is something I've been dreading for a long time (I don't know how I'll do in the case of a serious emergency). :/

Hopefully the ativan will get you through till Thursday. Sorry you're going through this! Sad

Thanks Clara!

Silly-last night was my first night using it. I took half of a 1mg pill just because I wanted to see how effective 1/2 would be. It did seem to calm me a little and it definitely helped me sleep. I usually toss and turn until 4 am but last night I was asleep by 1. Tonight I'm thinking about taking the whole pill. I get really freaked about taking meds so I'm starting slow and trying to stay calm. I'll probably sleep with the TV on to help calm me too Smile

I'm so glad it worked! I love Xanax and can't imagine not having it as needed. Which can be once a week or twice a day once in a while. It's there, it works, and there is nothing wrong with that. We all can use a little help now and then.

Thanks guys...you have all been so supportive-it makes me feel a lot better. I took the whole Ativan last night and I was a little anxious about it, but it went ok Smile I slept better that is for sure. My appointment is tomorrow and I'm so nervous to drive 3 hours away for it :/ I'll be taking the Ativan for sure and just try to stay calm. I've made the drive so many times, but I was less anxious then. Do you guys use any of the daily meds? I was trying zoloft but didn't feel a difference so I'm going to ask her to put me on something else for anxiety/ocd I'm just not sure what is good or what she will suggest.

I suggest that you ask your Pharmacist and or Doctor if you can take the Ativan and drive. Can someone take you to the Doctor? Good luck. Smile
