I hope for me this is temporary, and I can eventually get to stores and such. Will I ever be ever to work is the scary part. I would like to be able hold down even a part time job, or find something I could do at home, but I am not a crafts person and have a speech impediment that would interfere with me doing any kind of telemarketing from home.

I got out for another walk this evening with my dd, only 3 blocks one way and 3 blocks back, but something is better than nothing. I hate when I have to stop and go back because the panic is setting in. Cheryl

Keep on trucking Mimi! I forget who said it, but those backpayments can get large... I think mine was $33k. It just took a lot of time and patience to finally get approved.

It's an individual thing as to how disabled one is. I lost my education too and something I still grieve about due to my problems. I think we can only speak for ourselves and isn't good to be the judge where others are concerned. My nervous system is fragile with sensory hypersensitivity and auditory processing disorder due to brain injury as ive mentioned already. PTSD certainly doesn't help matters. With agoraphobia it seems more a secondary condition perhaps to some other underlying condition. I know what mine are but for those who don't it has to be hard. Physical handicap is not the only valid handicap. In fact people who are merely physically handicapped, say in a wheel chair, are able to do certain kinds of work without any trouble.
