MissNikkiAnn"When you have an illness with the name "Non-Familial Dysautonomia" (a name that most people, and even doctors, have never heard of), you need a network
of people who understand the name and the symptoms/issues that come with it.
MDJunction led me to that network of people during a very confusing and sickly time. For this I am thankful. And for this reason I try my best to give back to other members the same care and help that I received through MDJunction.

I'm an Advocate

Good Morning, it's very quiet here today, what's up with that? Maybe everyone is out buying Kleenex for their allergies, idk. Well, here's a few questions to jump start the day!

1. When was the last time you flew in an airplane and where did you go?

2. Do you ever buy scratch offs? What's the most you've won?

3. What type of bread do you buy?

4. What is your favorite color for a car/truck?

5. If a bunch of us got together and rented a lakeside house for summer vacation, is there any way you would make it?

6. Why do so many of you choose to show as off line when you're online, what's the reasoning?

7. On the same subject, why do so many members refuse to post a profile pic of themselves, everyone has a good picture somewhere?

Kleenex it is today!!! not because of allergies either...Found out if I want to rescue a German Shepherd I have to dish out $300.00!!! So the kleenex is everywhere on my desk here. My heart is broken as how can they justify bilking us for that much when those dogs need homes????

1. When was the last time you flew in an airplane and where did you go? About 3yrs ago and I went to the UP of MI to visit my Auntie Eva for 3 wks. Best 3 wks I've had in a long time. It was in August and the summers there are so awesome!!!

2. Do you ever buy scratch offs? What's the most you've won? Yes and won $50.00 first time I ever bought one and haven't won a dime since lol. But still buy them every now and then.

3. What type of bread do you buy? 3grain whole wheat(ONLY)

4. What is your favorite color for a car/truck? White

5. If a bunch of us got together and rented a lakeside house for summer vacation, is there any way you would make it? I would do whatever it would take to spend time with all of you.

6. Why do so many of you choose to show as off line when you're online, what's the reasoning? I don't do that anymore as I think it's rude but that just me.

7. On the same subject, why do so many members refuse to post a profile pic of themselves, everyone has a good picture somewhere? Dang I change mine so much so as you know have no issues here.

Well hope I find some peace with my dog issue as I've been crying all morning.....

Probably because I miss my last White German Shepherd so much.

Hope you all have a great day and it's suppose to be thunderstorms here today and that's just about how I feel too!!

Being Agor is almost as bad as the last job I had!!!

I'm sorry about the price of the dog Fidget.

I've noticed that looking around the internet at the rescues that there is a price $200 and up most likely to help fund the housing of the animals and pay the staff? Is all I can figure.

The price of animals in general is too much if you ask me.

The real price of any animal is feeding it and the vet bills and the time and dedication you are willing to put into it.

Our Sage was $800 and I felt like I was really splurging.

When she got hit by a car obviously we were all crushed but on my working about twice. month schedule I thought I cannot even afford to buy another,

Well now the place we got her a breeder has doubled their prices.

$1500 for a puppy.

Nuts I think and I wonder who can afford that kind of money for a pet?

Most people are not looking for an animal they can show they just need a good family pet.

The prices are just prohibitive.

Maybe something will work out for you-we can hope.

3 more days of school-yipee!

Thanks for your kind words damsel and hope I can get out of this grande funk without drugs today!!!

I am so heart broken over this and feel so pissed off that I'd have to dish out so much money and I don't work and hubbie would never give me that much money!!!

I don't really think he understands what this means to me and since I was never allowed to have kids I think he owes me that much!!!

HEY???? I think I'll use that one on him LOL!!!!

Good Morning,

I was busy finishing a book on my Kindle. I did my walk again today, went around the block and down the corner of my block Took it slow because of Hubby's back, so it was a 20 minute walk. I panicked a little when I got the street that has all the traffic and wanted to turn around and go back, but I didn't and kept on going. My nose is so stuffy and to top of the feeling of a ball in your throat it makes it hard to breath.

I am not much of a picture person, but will see if I find anything interesting. Have a great day. Cheryl V

$300 is not to much when the vet prices are taken into account. Most rescues run at a loss. Most expensive dog I ever got, I rescued off the street. Literally. 2 months and $2,000 later, she was healthy enough for training. All my animals have come with a death clause "But they are going to kill it".

You can get a much better deal at shelters, but of course you probably will not get a pedigree. Puppies are still more expensive. Many shelters still personality test the animals and you can return for 30 days if there is a match problem.

A few years ago, I flew out to NM to visit family, and buy my moms car. Boy, I hate flying.

Probably wouldn't make it to the lake house.

Check out the pictures I posted on my profile of the spinning wheel stuff.

What about a garage sale Fidget?

I know they are a lot of work but that might be a good way to raise the money.

Good morning Smile

Fidget, I'm sorry about the price of rescuing the dog you're wanting. The price of rescue animals has really gone up, but I know the expense they put out to care for them is pretty high too. Hopefully something works in your favor and you can get one.

I know I have put out lots of money on animals through the years. I've paid up to $1200 for our little shi-tzu and also paid that for a yorkshire terrier for my mom as a gift. I didn't really have the money to spare, But I consider breaking them free from pet stores as a type of rescue at times also... those places are horrific Sad I've also gotten a couple animals from rescue shelters, and my cat that just passed is one that my daughter and I spent 3 days stalking out and making friends with sitting on the porch of an abandoned house. Someone had left the house with a litter of kittens ... just left there to die. So we actually rescued 2 of them. I love animals !!!!

Well today we are attempting to put the house back in contract. I have thrown a fit long enough to get my way Wink Hopefully they aren't too angry and will accept the offer again. I fell in love with this house and want a fresh start in it..... I'm one of those people who love the old houses... they have so much character. This one is 100 years old, so full of character and not a lot of problems I hope... yikes!!!

Everyone's doing such a great job with the videos. I don't think I can do it still Sad I have no issue with showing pics or even talking on the phone, but talking into the camera makes me freeze up Sad Maybe someday...... I could do it if someone comes here and interviews me lol.

1. When was the last time you flew in an airplane and where did you go? geesh, I was in my early teens... I flew to Nebraska from Ohio to visit my friend who had moved there. I've only flown 2 other times when I was younger than that, both times to Philly to visit family. I can't get on an airplane now Sad too closed in for me !

2. Do you ever buy scratch offs? What's the most you've won? I buy them, but I don't think I've ever won more than a few bucks.... maybe as much a $20 woohoooo Smile

3. What type of bread do you buy? whole wheat or honey wheat

4. What is your favorite color for a car/truck? black.... unless it's a jeep, then I want bright yellow. It's the only thing I like yellow on Smile

5. If a bunch of us got together and rented a lakeside house for summer vacation, is there any way you would make it? yes if you make it at the Lake near my house Smile lol

6. Why do so many of you choose to show as off line when you're online, what's the reasoning? I don't do it.... a couple times when I've been angry, but other than that I don't hide Smile Wink

7. On the same subject, why do so many members refuse to post a profile pic of themselves, everyone has a good picture somewhere? I've tried to figure this one out..... it's so hard to really feel like you're getting to know someone without putting a face to them. I've always had a pic... and change it often when I start feeling insecure about it. But I think we remember people better when we can personalize it. But I guess on the other hand I can understand if the person is incredibly shy or maybe needs to remain sort of anonymous......... sometimes anonymous can seem suspicious Wink lol

Well I better drag myself away from the computer and get ready for the day. Hopefully my week continues to go as well as it has so far Smile
