Ok, Silver, I will start this off for today:

1.What’s something that really pisses you off?

People lying to me. Especially when they insult my intelligence by telling me a lame lie

2.Name one thing that kills you to pay for?

Toilet paper

3.Is there anyone in your life, that just the sound of their voice makes you cringe?

Yes, my brother in law. Whenever I hear his voice, I cringe because I know he wants something....He's a pita.

4.Are you obsessed with germs from other people?

No

5.Do you have a family member you’re not speaking to?

Not at the moment

6.Do you own skinny clothes and fat clothes?

No, I gave up on the skinny clothes. Just have a closet full of fat clothes that don't fit...LOL

7.Do you believe in tithing? (Tithing, the giving of one tenth of one's income to a religious group)

Yes

8.What was your last act of kindness?

I gave a friend a ride to the store

9.Do you believe in karma? (for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first)

I don't know if it's karma really, but I believe all will get what is coming to them at some point

10.Do you believe in spanking children when they misbehave?

Yes.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

1.What’s something that really pisses you off? People who are self centered, they think of no one but themselves.

2.Name one thing that kills you to pay for? Most everything. I was raised poor, am still pretty poor, so I'm cheap. Laughing

3.Is there anyone in your life, that just the sound of their voice makes you cringe? A few very spoiled and whiny people in my extended family. It wouldn't be so bad but they have the whine in there voice you sometimes hear from small children. Only they are full grown. Blink

4.Are you obsessed with germs from other people? Not at all.

5.Do you have a family member you’re not speaking to? No. I have a few I'm out of contact with but that's really it.

6.Do you own skinny clothes and fat clothes? I just own clothes, I don't have the $$$ really to be picky or buy something that doesn't fit. I do tend to buy and wear things that fit loose though.

7.Do you believe in tithing? (Tithing, the giving of one tenth of one's income to a religious group) No.

8.What was your last act of kindness? Put me on the spot and I can't really think of anything. Dizzy

9.Do you believe in karma? (for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first) Not really.

10.Do you believe in spanking children when they misbehave? No, for me its never okay to hit somebody. Except in defense of your life or anothers. Now there are studies that show spanking causes aggression problems (and sadly lots of other problems too). Which makes sense because children are impressionable, and learn by example.

I read the article, and I've read several other germ articles. They don't really bother me. I just wash my hands throughout the day and I feel fine about it.

1.What’s something that really pisses you off? ~ lying ! I hate when someone lies or doesn't keep their promises !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2.Name one thing that kills you to pay for? ~ hmmm.... paper products we just throw away or flush lol. ... TP, napkins, paper towels, tampons. lol.... all necessities, but I hate paying for them Wink

3.Is there anyone in your life, that just the sound of their voice makes you cringe? ~ YES !!!!!! my brother. There are times when he is around I have to go outside or another room so I'm not able to hear him.

4.Are you obsessed with germs from other people? ~ nope not at all. Germs are everywhere, it is just impossible to avoid.

5.Do you have a family member you’re not speaking to? ~ Yep... the brother I can't stand to hear speak lol.

6.Do you own skinny clothes and fat clothes? ~ ha ha ..... yep, but thankfully now I am wearing my skinny clothes and just saving the others for just in case Wink

7.Do you believe in tithing? (Tithing, the giving of one tenth of one's income to a religious group) ~ I used to believe in tithing and was VERY involved with my Church, but then they sort of turned their backs on us during my cancer and during a difficult time with my son. BUT, I believe tithing doesn't have to only consist of money. It can be giving of your time, donating to shelters...... whatever you are able to do.

8.What was your last act of kindness? ~ gosh, I don't know.... I held the door for an elderly man at the grocery Smile I try to be kind always, so it's hard to just list one thing.

9.Do you believe in karma? (for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first) ~ I believe we will all someday face our maker and have a lot of explaining to do Wink Wink...... idk what I think about karma....... just that Karma and paybacks can be a b#@*% !!!

10.Do you believe in spanking children when they misbehave? ~ this is a touchy question.... yikes! I believe in discipline for sure. I think a spank on the butt never hurt me any, and I did spank my kids a couple times ( I always cried afterward though lol...my kids laugh about it to this day). But I do not believe in slapping or spanking with other objects AND I totally disagree with those who get a so called "switch" off the tree and spank their kids with it. I had a neighbor growing up who's mother made him get a thin branch off the tree when he was bad and she would spank him with it. It traumatized me Sad

1.What’s something that really pisses you off? Broken promises, liars, and bras!

2.Name one thing that kills you to pay for? RENT

3.Is there anyone in your life, that just the sound of their voice makes you cringe? LOL YEP!

4.Are you obsessed with germs from other people? Obsessed? no... careful sometimes.. yes.

5.Do you have a family member you’re not speaking to? I speak to them all. Doesn't mean I like them. Wink

6.Do you own skinny clothes and fat clothes? Nope.. just fat ones!

7.Do you believe in tithing? (Tithing, the giving of one tenth of one's income to a religious group) I believe that it's in the Bible.. do I do it? NO

8.What was your last act of kindness? Made my son a sandwich and took it to him because he is sick.

9.Do you believe in karma? (for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first) Nope

10.Do you believe in spanking children when they misbehave? Only when they are really little before they understand words and the meaning of things, just to get them to associate the word NO as an important word that they WILL respond to, or they will get a spanking. It didn't take long for my kids to grasp this concept, so I didn't have to spank much.

1.What’s something that really pisses you off? ingratitude

2.Name one thing that kills you to pay for? INTERNET!!!

3.Is there anyone in your life, that just the sound of their voice makes you cringe? Sometimes Blush

4.Are you obsessed with germs from other people? not in the germ sense, but I can get disgusted by 'visible' things, like a hair in food.

5.Do you have a family member you’re not speaking to? not right now, although most of my family I only speak to over facebook comments, etc. Shortly after high school I didn't speak to my father for six months, but we worked it out.

6.Do you own skinny clothes and fat clothes? For the first time in my life, YES! For me that just means I have clothes that are 34" waist and large shirts, and 36" waist and XL shirts.

7.Do you believe in tithing? (Tithing, the giving of one tenth of one's income to a religious group) Hell no! Let me rephrase that in less severe terms. I don't see anything wrong with my father, Irish-Catholic, dropping a 20 in the basket every Sunday. On the rare occasion I attend mass, I do the same. He goes there to church, and therefore is making a donation that keeps the church going. (Although I can't imagine he's giving them 10% of his salary, that would be a lot of money). Fine; to each his own. But I f'ing hate all these whackjob evangelists on tv swindling money from people, most of whom don't have much money to begin with. I recently ordered satellite tv for my mother, and all these religious channels do all day long is try to get poor people to buy expensive cd's or dvd's, or donate outright to support...? to support what? They don't seem to talk much about where the money actually goes. /rant over

8.What was your last act of kindness? My mother really wanted beef, she said the protein made her feel better, so I went out and bought her a bunch of gourmet burgers.

9.Do you believe in karma? (for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first) Ironically, while I have little to no spiritual beliefs, I do believe in karma, in the sense that if you do good things, good things will come back to you. I have found this true in my own life. Scientifically you could say that people are willing to help me out in times of need BECAUSE I do good things, am a good person, et cetera, but I think it's more than that.

10.Do you believe in spanking children when they misbehave? Absolutely not, except in the age-old example of swatting a child's hand when they're about to touch a hot stove. Otherwise, I think the idea of violence as a punishment is no way to raise someone. I "DO" however, respect a parent's right to punish their children according to their own belief system.

1.What’s something that really pisses you off? rude, mean people.

2.Name one thing that kills you to pay for? breathing ---not really but food and shelter is almost paying to breath...it really kills me to pay for since it is so expensive and everything else

3.Is there anyone in your life, that just the sound of their voice makes you cringe? my dad. he annoys me but other than that, no one since i'm homebound right now

4.Are you obsessed with germs from other people? yeah but not as far as not shaking their hand

5.Do you have a family member you’re not speaking to? not my close familybut i do have a few that i'm not too fond of and not afraid to show it .

6.Do you own skinny clothes and fat clothes? all i own is fat clothes

7.Do you believe in tithing? (Tithing, the giving of one tenth of one's income to a religious group) no.

8.What was your last act of kindness? lol none, sorry

9.Do you believe in karma? (for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first) i dun know

10.Do you believe in spanking children when they misbehave? i don't know. I'm not a parent so I can't really opinionate since I have no experience although my dad did [abuse] us for any little thing and he's the reason for most of my suffering but that's another story Sad

Ahhhh the age old question of corporal punishment. I see different opinions here.

My theory is this... and it worked:

A from the age of about 2 to 4, you must teach a child to listen when you say no. It is vital to their survival. To ensure that your child takes you seriously there must be an easy to understand "fear" in the child's mind if they disobey. It doesn't take constant beating or an everyday thing, just a reminder now and then of who is boss and that when you say no, it means NO. My kids learned this over the span of those years to the point that it STILL only takes is a certain look from me and they obey me. They are teenagers now.

Small children have little reasoning power, you have to teach them through hand slapping and occasional spankings what is right and wrong.

Then as they age and their brains (speech, reasoning, cognitive behaviors) develop, you can parent them with words, time outs and such without ever striking them. Though there are some kids I would love to knock the shit out of!!! LOL

In summery, if there is no real fear of punishment behind a threat, then there is no control or reason for them to obey. I chose my battles with my kids to include safety issues mostly. I didn't tell them what to wear, what to do in their spare time, how to act when at home, or how to even comb their hair. I was never a controlling parent, but I kept them safe, happy, well fed, and loved.

I remember asking my kids after a punishment, "So, are you going to do that again?" Of course they would say no. Then I would have them say what they were not going to do again in a little detail. It worked for us.

As for parents who beat their children, I would LOVE to be there at the time so I could beat the crap out of them for treating a child like that. LOVE TO! Anyone who gets off of hurting someone who is defenseless deserves my wrath!
