Hi caroline! hmm...good news? Well I just realized i have identy fraud...like an amazing amount! But good news is I am currently resolving it. Plus I found a new song that I love that makes me want to wear leggings, perm my hair, and wear day glo. (Music is my life..love it, breathe it, would eat it if I could. )

On nooooooooooo Ashley, I hope you can recover any money stolen. Was it through the internet?

I am curious about the song, I'm at the age where perming hair, preferably with a silver grey dye as well, is almost onligatory, together with elasticated waist skirts and a white cardigan. (English humour) howerer, Gucci and Moschino won't let me do it!!

I will be listening to the sweet music of my bottom slapping leather today (nooooooo LOL don't even think it)

I will be having my riding lesson in a few hours. I am already getting tense, even the thought of getting in the shower and having to go into my dressing room, gives me a sick feeling.

I keep thinking of the musical 'Hair' now, the songs are already rolling around my head and driving me nuts, thanks a lot!!! (giggles)

I am going to have to listen to Clapton or Queen to remove the sound of the 70's.

(I'm with you on the day glo, theres nothing better than glowing in the dark!)

It's St. Georges day in England today, he was supposed to have slayed a dragon.

Lets hope we all face ours and slay them too.

Keep the sword away from me when I mount Robin, I don't want to conquer the wrong beast!!

Peace.

Caroline.

I had it for almost 30 years when I was married to a control freak. After divorcing him, I semed to get much better, mainly because I Had to take things under control - there was no there to fall back on. Lately I have moved in N IN with my bf of 9 years away from my famioiar hometown, and find it creeping back because I don't know the area, and have not found any close friends - only the ones on this site. Often, I break out in a cold sweat just thinking about going to the grocery store, which is near, and heaven forbid I would try and find a place that I have never been before. It is so frustration, especially after all the years 9f freedom that I have had, and now it is starting to dump down on me big time. I do so hope you get out of this viscous cycle and can live an fulll life again. All my hopes and prayers.

To me it sounds like anxiety manifesting itself. Hopefully, as you get more familiar with your surroundings, things will feel more comfortable. Do you have a subconscious fear that you will be 'controlled' again? You have been so strong for 9 years, you know it is there.

Does your partner have friends there? He should be a comfort and a help to be with you as you make short journeys and help you breathe through the fear.

Ask yourself, what is the worst that can happen? No one has died from a panic attack, although we all think we will.

You can do this, you've beat it before, you can do it again. Have faith in your strength.

My hopes and prayers are with you Niki.

No, I am afraid bf is part of the problem. He has lots of male friends here (he has lived here on and off for years) but the female half of his friends either bitch all the time, or have Major behavioral problems. . .I really don't want to be around them. (Who knows? Maybe they think the same of me, lol}. One of my major problems is that I am 'dircetionally-challenged, and can lose my going around the block, and then I do panic. I have anxiety disorder and take xanas which works very well, but the fear of always losing my way makes me hesitate to try new things. . .just will have to get over it on my own I guess. Thanks for caring.

Niki

Nikki, I don't see that you should have to get over this 'on your own' there will be a friend, who I am sure will help you by going out places with you. I have fears of getting lost too, my head goes so wooley and the anxiety takes over. I spent many years with chronic panic attacks. If ever I had one while I was out, it was very obvious to people. Some would walk past, I'd get funny looks, but always someone came to my aid and were kind.

I always saw my panic as an illness and not something to be ashamed of, so asking for help, came fairly easily to me. There are some amazing people out there.

It must be difficult starting over, none of your own friends and not liking your bf's. I remember years ago, when I met my hubby, he hated all my friends, what I think he hated was my connection to them and not them per se.

I think he had low self esteem and depended on me too much, so we began to make new friends together. That helped him a lot.

All my friends think that I am 'totally mental' but they all love me for it. I laugh with them at all my 'quirky' ways.

Xanax is good, perhaps your Doc could prescribe you a low dose of diazepam for 4 - 6 weeks while you make an effort to feel comfortable just walking around the block. It might be worth discussing this with him/her.

I do care very much, I may not have helped here, but if ever you want to chat, please do.

Caroline.

Niki...

Oh dear, I have the same anxiety about getting lost. It was so bad, that I would get off on an exit, even if I was going in the right direction and start crying and calling my husband who (then) pulled up mapquest on the computer and walked me through it.

He recently bought me a 'Magellan' GPS, and I never get lost, because it is so accurate and it talks to me the whole way. "Right turn in .4 miles" and then it dings at you JUST before you should be turning...it's the most WONDERFUL invention ever.

People overwhelm me...so I stay at home. Now if the general public was comprised of animals, children under five, and older people over 70, that would be my heaven...NON THREATENING.

Ahhhh, but life couldn't be simple like that...
