Hi

I was just surfing the net searching for informationon agoraphobia. I had a panic attack Mon. when I had to drive my car into garage for an oil change. I couldn't remember where anything was in my car, I was shaking and felt sooo stupid. I just wanted to get home. Not just home but in the house. It is the only place I feel calm and safe.

I have been battling depression for over a year now, but this stuff is new and very scary.

Hi all-

There is a new show on A&E on Monday nights @9CST 10EST about OCD, anxiety and panic. The first episode was Monday. They are approaching it by a slow desensitizing process. There are not many therapists who do this kind of work, they would rather give meds, which may be needed, but I think for long term permanent results, desensitizing is the best way to go. That's how I got over my issues.

Hi

I have been on Welbutrin for 2 years, this time. Before that I was at a beautiful place in my life, happy with friends, in love with my husband. Losing weight(65Lbs), exercising regularly, really enjoying life. I don't know what triggered it but I started spiraling down, and lost it all. Now I sit at home with my laptop and try to figure out how to get through the day. My friends held an intervention but it is so hard to even go out with them like I use to. I gained back all the weight and more. I tried a weight loss place for women and really liked it but I stilled liked it best being on my own. My grown children just say get help. My husband tries but is a beleiver in positive state of mind and says to just change my thoughts. Like there is a switch you can turn on or off.

There is a switch, so to speak. But you have to be taught how to turn it off. Start searching around the web for therapists who do desensitizing work or neurofeedback. Having your life taken away from you, and not understanding why it happened is confusing for sure. But, you can have it all back.
