MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

I drove to the store today just to get some bread and a chewy for the new puppy. Its only 2.7 miles away and last time I attempted it I did'nt make it all the way, but today was a success. I had to cross 4 lanes of divided highway which is a hurdle for me to get to this particular store, and its in the opposite direction of the Hospital. Van Halen came on the radio and I just listend to David Lee Roth scream in the mic, and Eddie saw away on the guitar and before I knew it I was in the parking lot. Normally I back into a parking spot so if I have to run out in a bad panic I can get out of the parking lot easier, but I just pulled into a spot and headed in. I found the chewy right away and the breaded eluded me for a minute but a nice lady showed me where it was..I had my stuff and was ready to head out, when I got to the check out there were like 9 people ahead of me waiting for the only available cashier..I swallowed hard and stood inline. Negative self talk started creeping in , "will i panic standing inline", "is everyone going to look at me if I set my stuff down and hurry out"..I did my best to put those thoughts away and be in the moment, just then the lady who helped me find the bread said Ill take someone at this register, and walked over to the other available register. Since I was last in line I made a B-Line for her and she rang me out in 2 shakes of a lambs tale..Before I knew it I was in the car heading home panic free feeling pretty good at my step to self reliance. I even took a differnt way home just to see something new......

Congratulations! Now that you've had success, you know you can do it and being able to have the independence to shop on one's own is huge. I'm able to go to grocery stores and such, but I haven't been in a mall in years myself. But being able to grocery shop is so important because it allows you to be able run your house on your own. Yay for you! Also, the new puppy will definitely be a motivator for you. No matter how badly I feel like panicking or feel like holing up in my house, if my dogs need something, whether it's just a walk, food or a trip to the vet, no way I'm going to let them suffer because I am scared. So your pup will help you tons, so happy for you.
