Welcome to the group. This illness is debilitating but you can get control over it. It takes practice, support and acceptance.

Welcome aboard

I want to welcome you and assure you that you will find hope, support, and kindness here. Though your illness seems immense right now, it will get smaller and you will begin to regain control.

Hang in there, and I look forward to getting to know you better in the future.

Hi Goodman,

I am glad you found this group. Sounds like you are really struggling at the moment. We all get that. This is such a difficult illness. It is hard to comprehend and hence often families get frustrated. They cannot comprehend the severity of the symptoms. They don't get the war that goes on inside us. In all honesty it is hard to understand even for us. How is it possible that our lives could be robbed from us so suddenly.

I hope you are seeing a psychiatrist, maybe taking medication. Finding the right meds was very important to me. Recovery takes a combination of therapy, meds, acceptance and baby steps. If you can make one step past your comfort zone each day, you are making progress. Exposure is not easy and we have to expect to be very uncomfortable. We must accept that we are safe at all times, no matter what our bodies tell us. I would recommend you read Claire Weeke's "Hope and Help for Your Nerves" if you have not done so already.

Post as much as you can. You have found a place filled with sincerely wonderful people who understand your struggle.

Anna

Hello Goodman glad to have you in the group. Sorry your struuggling so we all know how that is. It is truely hard for families to understand how this can just knock us right on our butts. If they have never experienced it they can't know what it is like for us.

Great to have u here my names Viv.
