My yahoo account has got a virus, or my computer has, it sent me an offline IM in spanish from a friend, I clicked on it and now my computer has it.

Im running AVG on it to get rid of it, but somehow it deleted everyone off Yahoo except Kevin.

I think it already sent something to JRose, because I received an offline IM from her about me speaking or something in spanish.

I'm going to reinstall Yahoo after I get rid of the virus on the computer, so can you all PM me your Yahoo contact details again please.

I hope no one else got this.

Dizzy

I was wondering and that is why I sent message back questioning it before I opened it! It seemed a bit strange to get a message from you in spanish...lol!

sorry to hear you got hit tho. Stupid, stupid, stupid computer viruses! I wish these hackers would put their expertise in to something less destructive and more productive!

Sorry Jen, so glad you didn't open it!!

Finally got rid of the virus (fingers crossed) and I've downloaded crap cleaner and shampoo suite or something that is supposed to keep the computer safer.

I hate it when the comp gets a virus, and I'm usually so careful with everything I open. Silly me.

Will download Yahoo messenger again tomorrow, I can't be bothered tonight, lol. I was ready to throw the computer through the window, 2 hours of scanning and rescanning and restarting and....you get the idea. Lol.

So please feel free to send me your Yahoo Id again everyone. Smile

Arghh, I'm pulling my hair out. Blink

I downloaded Yahoo Messenger again, and all my contacts were already on there.

I had logged in as invisible, and was browsing the forum and suddenly a window popped up again to send a group friends message. And then another, and then all my contacts disappeared except Kevin.

Kev, you don't have a virus on your comp do you?

I've now uninstalled Yahoo (again) and will just leave it off until I find out what the heck is happening to the computer (well, to Yahoo).

I think it's possessed. Laughing Laughing

Awww Caz!!! That so super sucks!!!! I'm so far from a computer geek, but I have gotten viruses before. I've had to reset my computer using "System Restore". You can set your computer back to a previous restore point, you don't loose documents and such, but it's worked for me twice and my Mom once to get rid of the virus.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

DARN VIRUSES...GET AWAY FROM CAZ's YAHOO AND COMPUTER!!!

Oh Caz, sorry for your frustrations. I know how it feels. My internet provider shut us down a while back saying we had a virus. Now I do believe they were wrong for no virus was found but it was such a pain running all these programs and scans. My son even reformatted his hard drive. What a pain!! Hope all is good today.

Aww, and I thought you had really sent me pictures Caz Smile I got the spanish message from you early this morning. It doesn't look like I have any virus, I'm not sure why my account is the only one not disappearing. It might be because I leave my account logged in 24 hours a day, it may have only sent offline messages to people and waited until I was logged out. I hope it gets cleared up for you!

Phew, I'm so glad you didn't open it Kevin....I would hate to think I spread my dirty (computer) germs to anyone else. LOL

Actually come to think of it, your right, you were the only one logged on, so that's probably why you were left on there when for whatever reason it deleted everything else.

Will try again later tonight, after hopefully finding out what's going wrong first.

Caz, I am sending you a PM to tell you how to get rid of it. AVG won't remove many rootkits or rogues. Anyhow check your inbox.
