I had a week off of work and a lot of petty things to take care of. I ended up doing some unexpected yet positive things like having a carpenter friend build a small deck I can sit at in the back of my house. But, I don't think I can do that yet. It's a step. Also, some negative people were pulling me in their drama. I was also feeling unworthy of writing my book when I got a form letter rejection. But, I am going forward with it no matter what. I like a quote I heard "You are only as sick as your secrets" I held a lot of secrets and a lot os sickness. This agoraphobia is not gone, even though I can push myself to go out to work. Depression when I don't go out, anxiety when I do. I was told by my doc, I am cured, because I work. I don't believe that. I think I will have this forever and the depression that comes with it. I have to work tomorrow and Friday and need a little TLC. Love Maya

Much TLC coming from me to you Maya. I wish you lots of success and no anxiety. Now you are healed my dear Smile

The deck sounds fantastic, go out and take a drink with you and relax and enjoy it.

What book are you writing?

Oh Maya,

Do try to concentrate on the positives my friend. You took some positive steps and by now you know, every step counts. Every setback must be filed away and not given fuel.

Agoraphobia is a very difficult condition, it pulls us back just when we think we have outsmarted it. Pulls us back and covers us with a sheet of guilt and regret. We must throw that sheet right off our backs and accept that each day, each moment is going to be different.

Do not get discouraged by the rejection letter. You never know where or when your break will come, and it will. Do not give up on your dream. We are all cheering for you and we hold your hand through this all too familiar journey. Be kind to yourself, you deserve your own kindness and you need it more than you need ours. Be reassured though that we always care and are always on your side.

I hope you get to enjoy your deck soon!!!!

Anna

Maya,

It was good to hear from you. I just wanted to send a hug from one agoraphobic to another. You are special and I so admire all the hard work you have done to get to where you are. Your book is going to be great. Remember, "It's always too soon to give up". ~Norman Vincent Peale

Maya,

I was wondering what happened to you! All is well, my friend. In your book, you are somewhere in between right now...let's say you are resting in 'L' the 'Love' between the tender care of friends!

Maya,

Don't let rejection letters get you down! Everyone, even the best-sellers, get rejection letters. In fact, they get lots of them. Don't take this as a reflection of your work. Getting a book published is a monumental endeavor, but if you keep sending your work out you will get the response that you're looking for.

A writer's best work comes from what they are passionate about, and I can only imagine how passionate you are about how you deal with agoraphobia.

Keep your head up!

Kevin

Thank you all, as you will see in another post, I have had trouble as one of my chapters is called. Thanks Jmick. My passion to share my story is huge, even if is embarrasing, sad, funny and tells what other people call "dirty laundry". Truth is very important in my recovery. Thank you all again
