MDJunction to me

neshama48"Having Crohn's Disease for over 26 years, in the first few years, it lonely and isolating.
Though now my disease is in a near perfect remission, my friends and family are sympathetic to me, but I can not talk to them about this disease. When I stumbled across MD Junction, and met others who had the same disease I was not alone in battling the disease. MD Junction is like a second family, without the judgement or guilt of having Crohn's Disease, but they do give you love and support.

Hi everyone I am new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully meet some people. I have suffered with gad my whole life, but the panic attacks and agoraphobia have just started to get really bad the past 2 1/2 yrs. I have made lots of progress in the past 6mo but still know I have a ways to go! I have an 8 yr old son who also has anxiety problems and that is hard to cope with, as I tend to blame myself for his fears. I would love to meet others to have a support system and also be a support to someone else!

Hi Teresa,

So good to have you here. The more of us join, the less alone we all feel. It is hard to find people "in the real world" with this condition. Perhaps it is because we are really quite normal and do not advertise ourselves. We can be having panic attacks and no one would ever know. It is a long journey to recovery isn't it? I am so glad to hear you are fighting this condition and not giving into it. That is the hard part but it is so important. Good for you. I hope to hear more about your road to recovery.

Anna

Hi Teresa,

So good to have you with us. I hope you will make this a daily stop to inspire you and keep you thinking positive. I also have a 6 year old son that has issues with anxiety. He is adopted and I have wondered if I caused his problems, but my therapist has reassured me that there is a predisposition for this to happen and I am the one God wanted him to be with. I understand him and can be supportive rather than condeming. I felt like my family never understood me and made it worse by putting pressure on me. So always look at the positives in every situation. You can be a big supporter for your young man. I hope you are having a good day and I look forward to getting to know you better.

For now, I hope you find support here. You will- trust me on that. I look forward to hearing your steps to overcomng this too.

We're all here to help each other and learn and grow to overcome the fear and anxiety.. All the best.
