MDJunction to me

tomboykimi"What MD Junction means to me is a place where i can feel like im not alone. As someone with something as rare as hydrocephalus, it feels like im the only one in the world with it. When i came to MD, its like everyone has it. It doesnt feel like im alone. And that people need to hold up a sign to say what i have, because people know. And they understand. I can get questions answered from people who have been through it rather than from doctors or people who only can tell you from a physical standpoint. THat is what MD junction means to me." I'm an Advocate

Did you ever go buy something that you've wanted for ages and it's one of thos things that you have to put together and you are so sure you know exactly how to put it together because you've seen it done on tv so many times.

Then you get the toy home open the package and proceed to try to put it together. You try one way. That doesn't work. So you try another way. That didn't work either! Now wait a minute! They showed it just like this on tv, WHY isn't it working???

Something suddenly catches your eye. Something that you put to the side opening the package as simply fluff to hold the item safely in the package.

You take a second look and realize *Doh!* it's the directions as to how the toy is put together.

You've gotten frustrated by this point. What have you got to lose? You might as well read them. Said exasperatedly.

You open the paper and begin to read. Slowly it dawns on you what you've been doing wrong. You do it as it's said in the directions and suddenly this bright shinny toy sits infront of you. You did it!

But how much time would you have saved had you just read the instructions in the first place?

That's sorta like how I was with Agor. I tried millions of things to get away from the diagnosis. Surely I was not.

One day, I picked up the instruction manual and began to cry. There infront of me sat an exact … to the T description of me. Whaaaa!!!

Sometimes I wonder how much further I would be in my recovery had I just not tried to put the peices together. As seen on T.V. is not always the best way to go and imaginings from what you've heard about Agor is not the way to go either.

Once I read the directions, I suddenly had a direction. A goal. A job. A reason. A name.

Let's start this again.

Hi, my name is Mollie, and I have Agoraphobia. It's nice to meet everyone. Thank you for being so nice to me. It's meant the world to me. I hope that I may return the favor someday! Smile
