MDJunction to me

scotty04901"MDJ to me is an added phase in my recovery as a 44 year survivor of a TBI. I hope that with what I have lived through in those years, will be able to help all those who are just now going through. It is important to understand that even after 44 yrs, I am continuing to recover and to evolve. I just hope I can help others." (scotty04901)

The most important thing we can do for ourselves professionally, personally, emotionally, and psychologically is get clear on who we really are. It’s only then that we have a base to start from. When we get out of our own way and see ourselves for the amazing, brilliant, loving creatures we actually are, we can become the creative artists of our own lives. We are the canvas. And we determine t...he colors and textures and subject matter.

Risk brings rewards. Conflicts. Change. Unexpected results. Risk tests us, draws us out of our set paradigms and forces us to see that we not only don’t have all the answers, but we might not even have an idea about the right questions. The second we step into risk and decide to break our own mold, we hurl ourselves forward.

Trust has to begin with ourselves. We can’t even begin to trust anyone else until we grasp that we have ourselves before we have anyone else. Trusting gut instincts, knowing intrinsically what right and good for us, and being able to give ourselves the things we need provides a base for everything we do and everything we are.

Acceptance in its purest form of love we can give ourselves. Acceptance as in, stop resisting. Stop wishing it were different. Stop trying to control other people and events. Accept what is in your life right now. Accept what is and bless it. Because if you take risk, trust yourself and accept the results, you own your power. You own your own truth.

Loved the quote!

So very true.. if you don't have a firm grip on who you are, your limitations.. your strengths, weaknesses, convictions.. then you are not ready to go forward.

You must know what paths to follow so you don't waste your time and energy pursuing something that you just can't reach. This isn't giving up.. it's acceptance of your limitations. It's finding happiness within them.

If you want to know where your heart is... look to where your mind wanders.

I think accepting limitations is only okay if you are happy accepting those limitations, truly happy and are functioning to meet your needs and desires. If you accept your limitations and don't work to move past those limitations and want more, I think it's a disservice to one's life. We aren't here to live within limitations that we've made up in our heads. We're here to learn and grow and fulfill our dreams as best as possible. The post for me wasn't about accepting limitations and not challenging ourselves, but about accepting what life is to learn from it and work on the tools necessary to move forward and change the things you want to change. Accept that it's happened, but learn how to move forward to have a better quality of life. Smile
