suebaby41"I was recently diagnosed with Recurrent Breast Cancer In The Chest
Wall. I would not be able to handle it as well as I am without the
help of my MDJunction friends. It just proves to me that there are
lots of good people in this world and I am happy to be involved with
MDJunction who seems to have most of them.

hey all

just writing to give hope to those who are in need of a little bit of faith, Smile even though i still suffer from agoraphobia and i still have my panic attacks, it has gotten easier to handle and go to more places, its not easy and it is a fight but there is an end to this illness for EVERYONE! don't give up stay strong and keep on fighting ! its been 6 months since i was diagnosed with aggro and since the start i have made an enormous improvement! just got to keep on pushing your self and don't give up.

some techniques i have learnt is when I'm about to leave the house or "safe place" i keep telling myself don't be scared of the panic attack or there will be a panic attack, and telling myself that I am being ridiculous because i have done this a hundred times without even thinking about it before the panic attacks, it like learning to walk again your not born knowing how to walk you crawl then baby steps, thats all it is! i hope everyone is getting better and better everyday as i know i am even though its taken so long but i went to the beach the other day it was a small beach and was only my and my sister there but it was still such an amazing feeling to be able to do something so little that has become such a challenge again.

please don't give up on this battle as you will get through it it may take awhile but it will happen just to see the little improvement i have made in the last month is fantastic so keep to it, keep your head held high and ignore all the negativity from those who don't understand and just go on for your sake for a better brighter future Laughing

good luck

Congratulations on your continued success Mez. Seems you are on your way on beating this thing. Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the beach with your sister. Hope you have many more happy experiences like that. Smile

Congratulations on your improvements and thank you so much for sharing and giving everyone else hope. I agree that is a great tactic to remember the successes we have rather than just focusing on what's not working.

That is great Mez. Are you in therapy? On meds? What has been helping you?

Thank you for sharing. I really needed it. The past couple of weeks have been hellish. That hope that there is a end to it is sometimes all you need to hear. So with all my heart thank you Smile

@banaberry... no therapy, starting to see a psychologist next week, i am on 50mg of zoloft at the moment but my doctor does wanna increase it to100mg in a couple of weeks, so far whats been helping for me are the "silly" little things, i.e, I'm better at night so i always push myself further at night because I'm more comfortable, self confidence has made a big difference (so dressing up before i leave feeling good about what i look like and what I'm wearing), i have a book where one side i write all my bad experiences and on the other sides my better days and accomplishments and when i feel like i can't do something i always read over what i have done to be reminded that its do able and that i can do it and i have before Smile I've recently just moved houses to a more "stable" environment with closer family and where i feel safer and more at home so that has impacted on my recovery where as before i was surrounded by negativity and neglect. all different things work for all different people but the easiest thing i have found is having a distraction when leaving, music games books playing a game with friend/family Smile good luck and i hope you fine some useful tips x

Mez... good advice.

People forget or think they can't change their environment. Believe me when I say it has a strong impact on your recovery.

Self coincidence is always a good thing.
