MDJunction to me

2steveb" In life we all have trials and tribulations to endure weather it be physical, mental or social. For me personally when i encountered MDJunction i was astounded. Since i joined MDJunction to me it has been a god send and a life saver. I have met and been able to converse freely with so many people in the same situation as myself, (that alone is a big help, to know your not alone) to be able to discuss and get good advice from a braud section of people. One of lifes hardest things is to discuss personal issues with friends/family and yet the mdj family is non judgmental and you will be made totally welcome to talk through any issue thats on your mind. There are forums for every known issue to mankind, to me MDJ.com has become my family extension, id be lost without these good people and the extremely good guide lines that group leaders help us all with to keep threads topical and friendly." I have been taking Effexor for about 4 months. I had some sleeping problems before but they are much worse now. I was just woundering if this is a common problem for anyone else.

I have tried Effexor in the past, it did not help me alleviate the symptoms of depression/agoraphobia. Yes I slept most of the time but it only alienated me from everyone.

Try to speak to your doctor and let them know what is happening, get a change of medication or try an over the counter one to help with the sleeping - Valerian(herbal)

Thanks I'm willing to try just about anything right about now. When I do sleep it is for very short periods of time then I'm awake for hours before I can sleep again!

Hi Hope~ I take Lexapro, don't know if it is similar to Effexor, but it gives me insomnia for sure. I have to take other things like benzos or ambien to sleep and even then I usually only get about 3 or so hours at a time Sad I know how you feel Sad

Sleep deprivation can be a result of taking the medications, if you can combine them successfully do it I say. Herbal type approach or the Holistic can work too.

I take Klonopin as well. I call that my courage pill. I couldn't leave the house without it. I take enough meds to put a horse to sleep! Wish me luck. I envy the sleeping horse!

HI Hope, I have taken Effexor before and it never did that to me. I would definitely speak with your Dr. to see if he or she can add something to help you sleep. Good luck sweetie!!

Thanks Aimee! I just found out I have severe sleep apnea! I mean just found out the doctor phoned about my test last week. My body is so used to waking up every minute or two literally that it's no wounder I can't sleep! Maybe the drugs are not the real problem after all!
