Smile Hi Everyone: Here are some things you can try.

Limit beverages you drink at night if you geting up to use the bathroom at night.

Don't drink alcohol after 6-7:00 pm.

Exercise at least six or more hours prior to bedtime.

Establish a regular bedtime routine.

Write down what you need to do the next day before starting your bedtime routine.

Take a hot bath.

Go to bed only when your are sleepy.

Get up at about the same time every day.

Keep a regular schedule for meals, taking medications, and completing daily chores so your inner clock runs smoothly.

If you must nap, do so in the mid-afternoon.

Yoga, meditation, and progressive body relaxation have proven to help.

If nothing you try works, you might be suffering from sleep apnea. Sleep apnea means you have one or more pauses in breathing. You stop breathing or take shallow breaths while asleep. To find out if you have sleep apnea, you need to be evaluated at a sleep center. If sleepless nights persist for up to a month, you should see your family doctor.
