MDJunction to me

aTinaL"To me, Mdjunction comes down to motivation. The support and information I have found here motivated me to take a very proactive stance regarding my illness. This led me to find medication and doctors that are giving me my life back.
More important than even the motivation, though, is the friendship I have found at MDJ. I have made some of the best friends of my entire life right here in this group. Even though most of us have never met, it feels as if we have known each other for years.
If Angels walk among us, and I believe that they do, most of them are here at MDJ.

Learn the easy way

Container gardening is especially an easy and handy way for Seniors to maintain the beauty of a garden without all the work. You can avoid all that 'bending' and strain by putting container on table when planting. Once started, the upkeep is much easier; you can move your plants, flowers, herbs, vegetables at your leisure; you can have a few or many plants, depending on your needs or wants; no 'hoeing' allowed here (isn't that nice!). I started my container garden when I filled in my unused swimming pool (too much upkeep, seldom used, anymore. These gardens also attract butterfly. You can have your garden on an apartment balcony or patio, your back yard, or anywhere your ideas carry you. Plant and ENJOY!

I've not tried that yet, but always thought I'd like to.

I had a tiny pond that I put in when they were so popular and I loved mine but when I got to where it was to hard to keep up I filled the hole up and put beautiful rocks I had been collecting for years and now it is my container garden I put out as many or as few as I want I really love it and I can bring in what can't live through the winter.Smile

I have some large pots, compost, and miracle grow soil, and am filling pots for vegetables. I love growing pumpkins and cucumbers, so it will be interesting to see how they do in some pots. Tomatoes, of course, and soon I am going to start some lettuce in a shallow rectangle container.

I tried tomatoes last year but I am going to try again if my memory is right we had excess rain last year and I think that is why they did'nt do good. I might even get my son to till me up a very tiny place where my husband use to garden. Just have to see how I feel when spring for sure is here to stay.Smile
