I'm reading this post in disbelief... Stills disease has NOTHING to do with your consumption of milk! Milk? Really? I live in the medical capital of the world, and I work in medical research. I got sick in 2008, but was not diagnosed concretely until much later. The posts that say a flare can be triggered by stress, yes. A FLARE can be triggered by stress, by you don't get the disease from stress! You didn't get Still's disease from not sleeping enough. You can start experiencing symptoms after ...

Luckily diagnosis was made after only 6 weeks or so and one trip to the hospital. Great rheumy got me stable, and am slowly reducing pred from about 40 mg to now 5.5mg, plus methotrexate. I'm one of the lucky ones so far. I know the dragon can awaken at any time. Glad to find this group....

I have to pass this on because it working for me. I've had this unbearable disease (Morgellons) for five years. It’s like an attack that becomes personal as if there is some type of intelligence involved. It’s one of the most horrible things I’ve ever experienced. Sensations of crawling, itching and biting, non-stop. Everyone seems to be assuming that this is some type of parasite such as bird mites, scabies, etc. But I’m beginning to think maybe it’s not.

For example, let me start by s...

Hi there. Thanks for the info. I have almost the same complaints. I've been to a dermatologist twice, got two different antihistamine pills and nothing changed. It's so frustrating. I changed the medication coz I thought I was allergic to it. Now, the doctor is saying that we have to wait before the new one kicks in. My crp raised from under 1 to more than 4 which is definitely nog a good sign. Last time we checked it, it had started to drop, but was stil above the normal level. I hope it's bett...

On the subject of stills in relation to PMS and menstration, I definitely am more affected by the disease around this time of the month. Although my labs have not stated so, it feels almost like I am having a mini flare a few days before my period starts and then until it stops. I experience more pain, more fatigue, depression, anxiety, diarhea and sleep disturbances. I was diagnosed with the disease a little less than a year ago so am still on a lot of medications and learning to understand w...

Hi, i'm from UK.
I got diagnosed with AOSD September 11. I was 29 weeks pregnant and was covered head to toe in a salmon pink rash, i had terrible joint muscle pain and experienced chest pains.
I was quickly put onto Prednisone and at my worst time f my disease, I was on 40mg of the steroid. I am now on MTX and being weined off the steroids.
I ended up losing my little girl Phoebe-Jo in October last year, due to placental abruption. There was no evidence of her contracting AOSD but there...

Hello folks! I'm a newbie. I am just wondering if I really have an allergy. This started when I turned 20. I always sneezes every morning like it would never stop. Sometimes my nose is always itchy that makes me also to sneeze (this happens anytime). I'm just wondering if I have an allergic rhinitis or this is just normal. I've learned that allergic rhinitis can also cause you an asthma. Is this true? How do I cure this?Post edited by: jonell009, at: 11/27/2011 10:27 PM...

Hi there, I had to reply to this only because the past two years I have been dealing with this. My right wrist especially. I get large knots on the top and bottom of my wrist, and my thumb, first and middle finger are huge, and hard to open up in the mornings. I do have a brace to wear it kinda helps. I have gotten many injections for my wrists, but they last about 2-3 weeks, then im back to where I started. My Rheumy. diagnosed it as Tenosynovitis http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth...

I remember about 3 years ago I went to emergency because I couldn't breathe my lungs were so inflammed and when I told them what I had they didn't even know what I was talking about! They actually had to look it up on the internet to see how to treat me. It was incredible!!!

OH MY, they have started again. I had them a few months agom, but they subsided. Now they are back with a VENGANCE. Every single solitary night, I sweat through any clothes I may be wearing, and also through the sheets and soak the mattress. This is insane!! I know AOSD causes nighly fevers but I usually do not get the sweats like this when they break. I have also been alternating between EXTREME fevers and then VERY cold and clammy. My temp bounces from 103-104 F down to 96.0 and 95.X F....

What is Adult Onset Still's Disease?

Still's Disease is a form of arthritis that is characterized by high spiking fevers and evanescent (transient) salmon-colored rash. Still's disease was first described in children, but it is now known to occur, much less commonly, in adults (in whom it is referred to as adult-onset Still's disease).

What causes Still's Disease?

There have been a number of schools of thought. One is that Still's disease is due to infection with a microbe. Another concept is that Still's disease is a hype...

I am Angela =) I was diagnosed with AOSD this past November (2009). It has, so far, been quite a long and difficult road, as I am sure you can all imagine.

It began for me in late 2006. One day I started shaking a lot. I now know it is a tremor in my right hand. Then, I started slurring my speech and falling down a lot. Double vision soon followed. I saw my PCP and an opthamologist. They both sent me to a neurologist. He thought right away that I had Multiple Sclerosis. After many, many MRI'...
