Positive mental attitude and knowing that this will pass - NOT you..

My Story

Emergency Room in Nov 2007

Funny Story regarding ACC.

Left Laproscopic Adrenalectomy Feb 2008

Looked like tumor was encapsulated in gland and we were in the clear.

CT Scan in June 2008 showed that I had Stage 4 Adrenocortical Carcinoma and that it had metastasized into my lung and heart. I was given a 25% chance of living in a 3 year window - I asked that we never have that conversation again.

2005 Italian Protocol was advised - Etoposide, doxorubicin and cisplatin plus mitotane in the treatment of advanced adrenocortical carcinoma. It wasn't long before I choose not to continue the Mitotane and would recommend that still today.

We took steps like cleaning the house of chemicals, toxins, began taking supplements and even got a ionic foot bath.

I had a total of 10 months of treatment with the three chemo cocktails. Hair loss caught me by surprise and was roughly month 3. Naked like a babies bottom.

I did have a smart port put in before my 3rd and highly recommend that as well. Far less pain with the needles and you get to go on with you life with showering without issue.

Found out the first day of my 10 round that the CT Scan showed "NO SIGNS" of Cancer. All previous spots had disappear and I was clean. I finished that last round of chemo just in case.

About three months after you feel that the chemo chemicals have left you. It was a year before the heart really begins to feel like it was getting stronger and two flights of stairs didn't kick my butt.

About 12 months off of Chemo the weight really came back on, so be careful Smile I am looking forward to celebrating my two years clean and clear for this cancer and can suggest a few things that worked for me.

* Caringbridge.org = your best source to communicate to everyone, so you don't have to explain your status and continue to LIVE with the disease. Positive mental attitude doesn't spend anytime reiterating what you are going through.

* Don't bother with the Mitotane - it is slowing down your adrenals and damaging them. It's even a crazier thought process if you have had one organ removed that they recommend this.

Off the Wall, but I felt worked.

* Ionic Foot Bath - got mine from China at a 1/3 the price here in the states, and still use it pretty regularly as well as share it with family and friends. Neat device and I think it had a lot to do with my success.

* Toxic and Chemical Free Home - you would have to talk with my wife on how she did it, but it was marvelous.

* Eating right and Good Supplements. Watch the SUGAR, it's slows down the good cells and feeds the mutant ones. I liked adding RAW FOODS even though many suggest not too. They are worried about contamination, so buy fresh and wash well. Get the food to work for you - it will heal.

I would like to support, coach and encourage those I can. I can pray too!

Best Wishes,

Danny
