MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

New and just starting pred.[ which is making me feel terrible] Have Hashimoto's, empty sella and pituitary atrophy. Adrenal insufficiency. Have had blurred/distorted vision for over a year now and then developed dizzy headachesthat come and go. The vision is so disabling and frightening. The doc says it goes with pituitary. That's all I know. Does/can this go away with treatment on corticosteriods? Why is this happening? Fluid? Will I need a shunt, possibly?

Thankyou

I notice that my vision changes based on my sodium levels and my steroid balance. I'm blurry if my sodium is low and if my steroid levels are low. It is one of my "heads up" clues that I need to increase my dosage of prednisone - that my body may know that I am getting a cold, the flue, feeling stress, whatever, before I do.
I'm glad to share my experience, but I am not a doctor and you should always consult your own physician.
I am hypopituitary. I take prednisone (supplement with HC), levothyroxine, estrogen, growth hormone and DHEA.

Thank you! There is hope for this dizzy, blurred vision stuff then besides spinal taps and shunts! Great news! I'm glad I'm not the only one. The doc wants to do a test for diabetes insipitous, which would cause me to pee out mt electrolytes, my urine is mostly clear and sometimes I crave salt and get really thirsty. Maybe this is why my vision is so bad and pressure behind eyes. Things are so out of balance. Today, I just freaked out, so many health conditions! I can't get used to one without another popping up and feel ill for sooo long. I can't drive anymore and wouldn't even pass the eye test. Instead of getting better, I get worse! I'm always saying maybe next year or next xmas etc..I'll be able to....and every year I'm worse than the year before. So much pain and never any relief. Have you been here before? Thank you for everything!

Emily
