Happy Easter to you all as well. And Sue, you summed it up well by saying support family.

Happy Holiday! I love you more than most of my family!! Wink (I'd trade most of them in an instant.)

You have kept me (relatively) sane, and you tolerate me. Well done!!

Happy Easter to all, I feel the same way and feel connected to each of you in a deep way.

Deb

I'm glad to share my experience, but I am not a doctor and you should always consult your own physician.

I'm hypopituitary (SAI and hypothyroid) caused by a pituitary cyst. Taking 7.5 mg prednisone and 75 mcg synthroid daily.

Hey all, Hope you are having a wonderful Easter weekend. It is beautiful here in Tennessee! I have had family in (it's Spring Break), so haven't really had a chance to get on here until now. I agree with everyone - this is like another family for me!!!

Lora-Joy

Mom to two boys, one of which has Addison's disease, growth hormone deficiency, corn allergy, severe seasonal allergies and reflux. He is 10 years old. He was diagnosed in June of '06. He is on 12.5 mg of HC daily. He also takes growth hormone injections daily and meds for allergies and reflux.

I had an awesome Easter got to spend time with my grandson and was in a musical drama had three performances over the weekend and all went well. I was exhausted yesterday, but seem to have recovered today thanks to listening to Bob and spreading my HC out during the day. I feel so much better doing that. I hardly ever have peaks and valleys anymore!
Diagnosed with primary Addisons at age 46 almost died before it was diagnosed. Then told by Mayo Doctors in 2011 that I have secondary. Take HC 30.0 a.m. and 10 mg at noon and 10 mg at 4 p.m. 100 mcg Synthroid. Stress dose with Hydrocortisone for emergencies and carry a Solu-Cortef injection for emergencies. Also take 50,000 Units Vitamin D 3x wk and potassium 15 ml once per day. On pain meds Fentanyl patch 50 mcg and Hycrodone APAP 15 mL every four hours. I love this site and am so grateful for all of you!

Bob, have you spoken to your GP or anyone else about your continuing lung issues? Gee Bob, stay healthy. I hope you're ok.

Hi Gail

Yes but not here. Was never really figured out in the US, just treated as inflammation with Pred and a 'just in case' anti-b. I told my new GP here I was on Pred therapy and he accepted it without argument.

Pretty sure its a major gastric reflux burn. I have been treated for that over the years but it never connected with the AI issues until it became so bad it impinged on cortisol/anti-inflammatory resources. I have had this problem for maybe a year! Sometimes I really hate having to work this stuff out myself!

I have been less than kind to my body over the last few months, not staying on the CPAP, sleeping in weird beds, weight gain, Estress etc. It all kind of fits. I also excluded congestion, asthma and a general infection by playing with the drug load I take. I can be very tight chested, feel rotten yet have almost zero response from ventolin/symbicort. HC always saves the day but I have to take a lot of it. Pred as a single dose only helps for the 4 hours after I take it. Robatussin does nothing to bring any gunk up at all. My lungs are clear, just like hard cardboard! This also explains my crashes a week ago, not enough Cortisol to service all my body needs.

I slept propped up last night and I feel a little better than yesterday. I have a blood test this morning for which I have just taken 20mg HC for. If I feel rotten after that I'll just walk down to casualty. Its only about 300 yards away from the pathology place. Otherwise I'll try and see any GP today to verify my DX and treatment method. It would be nice to get on some solucortef but I think I shd be okay.

I'll get a little closer to Qld on Friday. I have to get out of this motel for a few days whilst the uni is graduating (no accom in town) so I am going to visit Glen Innes!

Bob
