I am currently taking 60mg. of Adderall ER once daily. That was bumped up from 30 mg. I felt a vast improvement but I still think it could be better. I was wondering if anybody here took more than that.

Also in another group, someone mentioned Dexedrine. I'm wondering if one is better than the other or if they are basically the same.

I go to see the pdoc tomorrow and was hoping to get a chance to talk to her about this based on what you guys had to say on the subject.

I take the Dexedrine Extended Release Capsules, but I get generic and it's just called Dextroamphetamine. Anyway, I am prescribed 90mg of those. When I was on Adderall, I was on the immediate release tablets and I was on 120mg!!!

I just saw my pdoc today, and discovered that I have been taking my meds wrong. I thought I was supposed to take them both together but she meant for me to take them at two different times of the day, even though they are extended release. So I will find out tomorrow if that changes anything. The increase from 30 to 60mg really helped but I was running out of steam by about 1:00pm.

For the first time in a very long time, I feel a little hope starting to creep in. The meds are, at least for the moment working and I feel that this new therapist will be a tremendous help.

Yea, you are supposed to take one of them when you wake up and then the other one about lunch time. That is what I think is correct anyway.

I looked at the bottle again and I don't know if it was the dr or the pharmacist but it says to take 2 capsules in the morning.

Well, my dr tells me that as long as I just take the 6 capsules a day, that he doesn't care how I take them. He usually just writes it to say, take 2 of them 3 times a day. However, if you have been feeling like you are winding down around 1:00, I would ask your dr if it was okay if you could take one of them then. Just my opinion!

Thanks for the info. I started as of today splitting them up, although I don't feel as good when I took them together. I had the first one about 7 and I'll take the second once around 2PM.

See, I'm supposed to take 90mgs, however, I don't take that much because it is a little too much for me. I do have a high tolerance, mostly because i am a big girl, lol. I'm 6'2 and about 225! Right now I'm taking 60mg and I take all 60mg at once in the morning, but in my opinion, the dexedrine lasts longer than the adderall. I hope that you have a great day!
