I have lived with touretts and ADHD from a very early age. I even tic in my sleep so much that I can't sleep well. I have always hidden it from everyone as best that I could that is.. Most of the time ya just can't for ever. As a guy you talk like that, so you hide it.. You all know we learn how to do that as best we can over time. I try to be a loving, honest, kind person but it's lonely man. I have mad ADHD and TS. Truth is I am just growing so tire of it. I have a great family a totally beautiful wife. Who at first thought I was funny, out spoken, had one heck of a creative mind, totally full of energy. Thing is I am just tired of explaining away the tics the panic attacks and the ADHD mind freezes mid sentence and hitting brick walls over and over that should not be there. It is always ripping my life apart every day in so many ways. I just say no, no words and swing out my arm like a yoyo every now and then. Anyway, Hi my name is Bret and I Never stop moving, talking and thinking about nothing.. and I guess I am asking for support from others with ADHD and TS.

Thank you for any reply.

Hi, Bret, welcome to the group!

I'm so sorry to hear you have Tourette's; that sounds so hard to deal with! As for ADD, I've had that all my life, along with Bipolar II, and I understand the difficulty of explaining to people just why you did or said what you just did or said! "Well, I've got ADD." "Oh, (laughing) I think I've got a little of that myself!" They just don't get it; how hard it is for us to do the same simple things others can do so easily. On the other hand, we can be more intelligent, insightful, funny, and very adept at what we do (as long as there aren't a lot of distractions, right?) In fact, I think the difficult tasks in life are easier for us because they're more interesting! The simple, boring stuff is too dull to keep our minds on.

Anyway, Bret, I'm so glad you're here! Make yourself at home - Jeni

My advice is free, completely anecdotal, and comes from my own experience. Always talk to your doctor before you change anything.

Thank you, Yeah and I do know that but, It's hard some times and I have done some cool thing for a guy with this issue. But, ya know. I just found this place like two days ago and I am glad I did. Some days I got it together and other days, well you know, ya just get down, it can suck. For the most part my TS is really not to bad most or may never know at all. But now that I need to be around new people more and have mad stress, woo it's just not a good thing. It can be hard. The ability to just talk with other about it is just as important helpful as learning about it you know? So thank you for taking the time to be nice and welcome me..
I hope you find the peace in your day that you are looking for.
Best Regards
Bret

Bret this is so true....These are the three mean reasons why you are here....Talking with other's helps. And looking for things that you need is learning..And thinking is a big part of the two......

This is what we are all here for....Maryanne
