I as a 40 year old mother of two boy's that I love and truley care for with all my heart and soul. The day that I had found out about my oldest son Thomas and all of the issues that he has standing over his head from day one was very hard, for myself as well as for my husband. But I can say that it was harder for Thomas because he had to deal with a lot. And for my youngest son James we just found out that he my ADD again we are going through of changes with him as well. It is very hard to accept in what your family, friends, sister, brother etc, is going through. But we all have to accept in how dealing with changes in what goes on with our loved ones........ Please read and Please send feed back as well. I think this a true statement, but it also has a lot of facts and options as well. This is just the way that I see things from what I have been through but you all may see things in a different way. This is from my mind and heart......We all can't be the same....

Maryanne

We all may not like to accept a lot of things that come our way but it is really not a choice.

I think the hardest thing for me, is knowing that my kids have these issues, they are not something that will ever go away, and it is heartbreaking. Growing up in today's society is tough enough on a kid. Throw in a disability like ADD/ADHD, and it makes it so much harder. It makes me feel helpless, because as a mother, I want to fix everything to make their lives easier. And it is frustrating. I do not have ADHD, and I am trying to comprehend what it is like for them. It's so tough, both as the parent, and the child. And you are absolutely right, it is not a choice. We have to accept the cards we were dealt. I would certainly not change anything about my kids, I love them for who they are. I just hope I am able to give them what they need to be successful in life, despite their disability.

Tracy, it is very hard to deal with what is wrong with our kids. But we as parents are helping in the way that other's may not know how to do. We love kids and we love in what they and as for us we can help them be successful in what they want to do.I know that it is frustrating but we need to stand by them as well. Like I have said we have good day's and bad day's but we al seem to get through them..
