i have a daughter that is on a mood stabilizer and a son that has been diagnosed with adhd. my kids! ahh! i am very worried about my son. he has always had an issue with stuttering. he is in speech therapy of course but he still stutters. it was getting better at one point in time but his adhd/odd was killing us all. he was flunking school , the whole 9 yards. he is 11 yrs old. the pdoc put him on concerta. grades are amazing, behavior is wonderful , we LOVE it. its the best thing that has ever happened to or for him. BUT...........his sturrering has gotten SO bad that he wont even talk much anymore. he is getting in fights at school because the kids are making fun of him for it and he is lashing out. we dont know what to do. we dont even know if this could be caused from the concerta. all we know is that its been so much worse since he started it. pdoc sd he doesnt know either and will need to research this. my husband wants to take him off the pills but i think this is a bad idea not only for son but for the entire family envolved.
