This will be his first attempt at team sports. He does really well in swimming and karate - which he's in for the long haul. They're great confidence-builders!

Team sports are a whole new experience in terror for me. Bats, flying balls, kids with little or no coordination learning a new sport all together in one place at one time. Good lord.

He doesn't spend much time talking to other kids. They're too noisy and distracting for him and he just doesn't have the patience to deal with them, I think. He identifies with adults and has no problem keeping up a conversation with anyone who is older than him, but he tends to talk down to other kids who are his age or younger. (I have no idea if this behavior is related to ADHD or not.) I think t-ball is going to be an eye-opener for him.

Has anyone else had this experience with their kids avoiding their peers or talking down to them? I just can't understand why he can't relate to kids his age. Our neighbors have a little girl who's a little younger (also has ADHD) and they get along great when they play together. My much younger cousins live on the other side of us and they're a little older than my son. They all get along great. I don't get it.
