Hi,

I recently found that Aroma-therapy has been really helpfull in helping me to cope with both ADHD and Panic attacks.

I light some incense or light the candle under the essential oil and within couple minutes I can focus.

I still have to put in mamoth effort to stay on task, but I get results.

I can stay on task for hours at a time.

Anyone else also have this effect.

On a seperate topic how do you know if something is effective in dealing with youre adhd or its just a placebo effect.i.e. you imagine that it helps but it doesnt really.

Thank you all have a happy day.

I think that you would know if you are feeling, good about yourself that day. Or if you or someone else see the changes....And as for Aroma therapy, I think it is a good idea....Please keep me up to date...

And you have a nice day a well!!!

Thanks,

I took youre advice and asked my parents if they noticed any change in my behaviour.

My mom said I was a little less anxious,

and my dad said I wasnt bouncing off the walls a lot, and I was less anxious and more on task.

That in addition to my feeling that I can stay on task and focus on one problem at a time, and worrying less about everything, means to me that this is working.

Unfortunatly its not an immediate effect that I light the incense or oils, and instantly am on task.

It takes a minure or two and even when I have lit it, I have to force myself to stay on task.

So its definatly not like throwing a lightswitch, but I think this is enough proof that it helps.

I dont think this is a placebo effect but as my dad said, even if it is a placebo, what does it matter....

IT helps and in my book thats all that counts.

Thanks for youre advice about asking those around me to notice changes in me behaviour, I think I will continue to use that as I try differnt coping strategies.

Thanks.

lavender oil has always been very fond to me, and mint. I get really bad headaches and usually aromatherapy helps out a lot with the headaches and making me feel better.

Previous discussions I participated in:

Oh boy do I have ADD!
