Thank you .
I've still no contact with him . Before he left me house he has several worries which were looming large for him , money worries as he had found out whilst at my house that he had a huge debt that needed paying and also his concerns over having left his son for a week to be with me . He was visibly anxious about both . After him telling me me that he had conflicting feelings about us as he felt he had ignored his son , I told him understood as this is his first relationship after ...

When I was in school, the library was always a difficult place for me to get any work done. There has to be some kind of constant background noise in order to for me to focus best. TV, music, fans, anything that covers up any extraneous noises is what I need to work well. Silence gets me a bit anxious even, and I cannot help but be hyper-aware of every rustle, shuffle, cough, and all that. My inability to relax in silence is a problem sometimes, so I always just studied at home in the living r...

I agree with Marsha about the routine and for your little one, making a list and using stars or stickers for each item on the list that is completed would be a great way to get the routine in place and working. Just a thought.

There are other meds out there that will help you focus. Have you tried Strattera? It is a non-stimulant and keeps you focused throughout the day. I am on Strattera and it helps me focus pretty much all day. I have not tried adderall, but have heard that it is speed, just like Ritalin. These stimulants that doctor's prescribed for individuals with ADD/ADHD are supposed calm them down not speed them up. I believe that is what is going on with you FixedOnFocus. I agree to telling your docto...

I understand completely where you are coming from with the meds. I am supposed to be taking somewhere in the neigborhood of 20 meds and many of them are either two or three at a time. I get to the point where I get sick of all of it and won't take anything but my Adderal and Norco. I have many physical conditions along with my mental health disorders.

I need to get back to a point where I am taking all that I am supposed to; it might juse make me feel better....

I have been diagnosed with BP type II and also have ADHD. I am beyond the point where any of this upsets me. I rely heavily on my meds. For myself, I was relieved to be able to put a name to what was wrong with me.

My problem with the meds is that they do not absorb properly due to having gastric bypass surgery 4 years ago and I don't get the full effects of the medication. I do occasionally take more than I am supposed to But often a without meds for a couple of days at the end of the mo...

My husband has lots of the symptoms of ADHD. He is in his early 50s. I'm not sure where to start, I was actually thinking he may be bipolar, but while I was researching I ran across some stuff about ADHD, and it also fits a lot of his symptoms. I still wonder about the bipolar, because he does seem to cycle. He always has problems in the spring, gets angry or hyper, and then self-medicates with booze. Lots of booze, and then he does act crazy and is verbally abusive. It is a true pattern with hi...

I was diagnosed with ADD at 40. I have some other health conditions, and am not totally convinced that I have ADD---symptoms could be caused by hypopituitarism.

I also have had chronic pain for over 13 years and was told by a psychiatrist that they sometimes use ADD medications to counteract the effects of opiod medications.

When I was first put on vyvanse---I did fantastic. I was getting all kinds of things done. I was on 70 mgs. Several years ago, I tried to take an anti-depressant th...

Tomorrow I see my pdoc and the next drug he will add to my cocktail will be wellbutrin. Recently I had to see him for severe bipolar depression and he put me on seroquel, which is working well (I only wish they made a “non-drowsy” version, if that is even possible). He wants to put me on wellbutrin primarily for my ADHD and also because it just happens to be an antidepressant and is least likely to trigger a manic episode.

I cannot tolerate CNS' like ritalin without raising my blood press...

I'm sorry I didn't remember your original post to the group. The meds have taken their toll on what used to be an almost photographic memory. Now, I'm lucky to remember my name half the time! LOL!

The psych meds really are guessing and experiment game. Hang in there, I'm sure that they will find the right combo for you.

Thanks for passing that along; I never heard that before. I wonder if it has something to do with the acid content in the orange. That would the include lemons, limes, etc.

I'll see what I can find out about that and pass it along. Thanks again and please keep posting.

Wow nice insight. I wouldnt say ADHD is a gift in my perse but im able to look into things deeper, but not too deep where what I say something is asinine or ignorant.Im the type where i see the bigger picture in things. For example the normal people might have something to complain or make a fuss about but I look at the other side of the spectrum and kind of brush it off...
