Silly question I know, but I wonder how that can affect your body after decades.

i used to but stopped many yrs ago. now i just chew on my cuticles when my hands are really dry. i have such a hard time with this, am always putting on lotion. my skin is kind of leathery now, if i don't use lotion it hurts. my daughter was nail biter, she just quit this past yr when she got a "foot and mouth" virus and got sores all over inside her mouth. that was enuf to make her keep her fingers out of her mouth!!!

I don't bite them the way I used to and I got a parafin wax kit that I use weekly to help keep my cuticle and nails soft. I also use solar oil on my cuticles. My nails are just brittle.

i think it means something regarding your health. mine have gotten brittle past 2 mths. am going to ask my dr. if i use nail polish i can grow them longer. i have never tried wax, heard it makes your hand feel really good.
