Hi,

I am just wondering what the difference is between adrenal insufficiency and addison's disease? I thought they were one in the same!

Sincerely, Carolyn

hi carolyn, it's me. addison's disease is when your adrenal glands do not function because of problem with adrenal gland alone(ex.tumor on gland).adrenal insufficiency can be caused by other problems in your body(ex.pituitary not functioning properly). it is a lot the same thing just different causes. did you know president kennedy had addison's? that's why he was sick and in hospital so much.
