Guncle, what's a concern is that if you needed that dose, then cutting back rapidly is how you can create an adrenal crisis. Notice I said IF. And notice I said CAN. It's not definite .... But it can kill you in one day, so you deserve to know the risks fully. Did he recommend you 'taper down', slowly reducing dosage over a number of days? Did he explain that stomach pain and extreme fatigue are two possible advance warning symptoms of a crisis?? He's the doc but do taper anyway!
