Mine was when I woke up in a crack house after 5 hours of being raped and beaten and everything of value stolen from me. I wanted to die. I really did not want to remember the horrific event. It changed my life, it was what cleaned me up. That was 10 months ago.

Being robbed by another addict (he also took my identity) and brutally raped - that what's got me sober (that, rehab and aa).

I think mine was just the entire experience. Just living my life chasing the pills. I would get some pills (either buying them from dealers, stealing them from people or faking an injury to get them) and as soon as I did, I would start worrying about and trying to set up the next time I would get them. Just living my life being under the thumb of this drug was my low point.

thanks frenchie. i have made a lot a major improvements in my life, and this place is one of them. whether or not i have hit bottom doesn't matter, i don't worry about it. i focus on the NOW like you said. sure i struggle with my addiction but i have convinced myself i am strong enough to live on.

i am realizing how other-worldly fortunate i have been and can take nothing for granted. now acting that out is the tough part, but atleast i see that.

Luckily, I have to seen that. I am very lucky. I have gotten myself into a lot of trouble, but I have not done anything that I cannot bounce back from eventually. Thank goodness.
My best day is worse than the worst day you have ever imagined.

I totally agree, Frenchie. Seabass- At least you are hear now and hopefully you will not ever hit your bottom... it's not fun! You just need to take your sobriety one day at a time and the biggest thing is to STAY FOCUSED! It takes a lot of work every day to stay clean. My husband and I could have used drugs many, many times and we just have to keep in mind that we do not want to go there anymore. The little while of feeling "good" is just not worth all of the regret and depression that goes along with it. You have to be motivated and focused every day on staying clean and sober. Good luck to you and remember that we are all here if you ever need to talk. I think that this place is a great aid in staying straight.

I guess just the pathetic stuff I was doing to get high or to get higher. Crying to my hairstylist who ended up helping me, after all the times I had been crying to my parents and actually asking them for help. Crying desperately in front of my cats who were confused and trying to help me. Losing my cats, and everything material.
