You talked to the doctor about your children?

I don't have any experience with the meds, sorry!

I am not a doctor or therapist, just a person who cares.

Izzy87.

yes,I talked to him about my son and my daughter. I have only gone to see him twice and he said we would discuss my daughter at a later time. I'm not sure what that means. It seems like he diagnosed me after almost 3 hours and I went back to him and the appt was only twenty minutes maybe. I'm not sure what to expect when it comes to these doctors. It seems he is more concerned with me right now. I am thinking about seeking a dr. specifically for children. I don't know if I'm making too much out of my daughters quirks as other people would call them. I have to think about how much I can afford for me and for her.

see psychologist for yourself. it does help, at least for me. I was diagnosed with ADD in the 1st grade I did not take any meds to help me until after my second child was born and my first born was diagnosed with ADD. Which I had been suspecting for a while. I later found out that most doctors won't Diagnose ADD in children ( those not hyper anyway) until after they are in school and the behavior continues or gets worse. But this is all hearsay from around my area of the world.

I have been taking meds for my ADD for about 7 yrs I was mariied to my hubby for almost 6 yrs before I started meds, he later told me he doesn't know how he/we made it through all those years w/out the meds. They really have helped my son and I have the quality of life we were meant to have.

Keep working with your doc to find the right combination of meds. It can take time to get it right. Just try being positive.
