Hi, I'm new and just wondered if anyone else who has had Acromegaly is into Ironman or Xterra and if they have had any AM related issues. Thanks, TCH.

Due to my knees being somewhat shot I had to give up running and regular cycling. For me the answer has been powerlifting. I have a 4 day split, my strength is through the roof and my weight has dropped from 319 to 270. I go 100% for 90 mins 5 to 6 days a week and have had no problems, other than frequent modifications for the "joint pain of the day". I think the elevated GH prevents the cortisol spike that usually occurs at 60 min for most athletes allowing me to push for a little longer.

I did just learn that new stud dies are showing increased bone fragility in Acromegalic patients, especially vertebral, so don't ignore nagging pains that don't go away.

Mornings usually find my joint pains the worst. Headaches the worst in evenings.
