Acne Support Group

I have just joined this group for my daughter who has pretty severe cystic acne. It is obviously hereditary, as her father, 2 uncles and grandfather also have it. Her father is 50 and still gets cysts. Unfortunately, my daughter and her father were the only was to get it on their face, the others have it on their back. I have done a lot of research on cystic acne and it always goes back to Accutane. Her father has probably done about 3 treatments (if not more) in his lifetime and it works wonderfully. So....my daugter is convinced that nothing will help the cysts except accutane. She is only 19 and my major concern is birth defects, since she does plan on having children one day. Does anyone know the statistics on birth defects? How long you should wait after treatment to conceive and has anyone out there come across anything else that is effective in getting rid of the cysts.
