My name is Carla, and I was first officially diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2001. Recently, my diagnosis was re-confirmed by a new Rheumatologist, who stated that I have had Fibromyalgia since 1995. This past summer (2009) I was also diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis (IC), a very painful inflammation of the bladder wall, which often accompanies Fibromyalgia. I have been unable to work, due to Fibromyalgia, for 12 years.
Over the years, I have tried numerous medications for my fibro, but with little or no lasting success. In May 2009, I started the new fibro drug, Savella. I got some pain relief (dropped from an average of 7 to an average of 4-5 daily), but I did not notice much improvement in my other fibro symptoms. Unfortunately, the longer that I was on Savella, the worse my side effects became. I finally stopped taking it in October 2009.
I started following Tina’s progress on her new medication, Suboxone, in July 2009, and was impressed with her success. I decided that this drug might be something that I would want to try if Savella did not work well for me. In September 2009, I started taking Suboxone for my Fibromyalgia pain and experienced truly amazing results. Within an hour of taking the drug, my pain level dropped to 0-1! It really does sound too good to be true; but that is exactly what happened!! This is the only drug that has caused such astounding results in my fibro pain! With the decreased pain and increased sleep, I actually have started enjoying life again!
I enjoy helping people, so I’m very excited about sharing my experiences concerning Suboxone. My desire is that others may be encouraged to try Suboxone, and possibly enjoy the wonderful benefits that many of us, who are taking Suboxone, have achieved. That is what MDJ is all about - people helping each other. |
