It's nice to know that you aren't the only one going thru something, and there is ALWAYS someone ready to help you anyway they can. MDJ is truly one of a kind, and I'm grateful for the friends I've made here." (jaime1978)

Hi, im steve, i live in north west UK and have had epilepsy for 25 years, over those years i have leared that the best epilepsy doctor is yourself. As you can learn what triggers your fits rather than wanting a doctor to guess the cause and give you pills. Obviously there are exceptions such as brain damage being a cause. I sat a degree in psychology to learn how my brain works (should ;-) ) to enable me to come to an understanding of what i do and the effects it will have on my brain. This for me has had a life style changing outcome all for the better.

I have never met a doctor who is an advocate of 'herbal meds' (but i use some 5HTP) so research statistics are not available other than peoples own diaries. If it holds any interest to anyone i do write diaries about it.

If you have any issues you wish to discuss either about you or a family member you have concerns about you can chat here or in private feel free to get in touch, i WILL get back to you
