Lisa's thoughts...

Heartbreak child...

Sep 27 2009
My son started getting in trouble in the third grade. Cutting up in class, jumping up on tables, sneaking out of school. In the fifth grade he bought a knife at school and was suspended for 5 days.

He started skipping a lot in the seventh grade, refused to take his ADHD med and began failing classes. In 8th or 9th grade he started doing a lot of drugs. Taking way too many motion sickness pills so he would be hallucinating like he was on PCP or something. He would be petting rocks and speaking to people who weren't there while not seeing us.

He was stealing the drugs from drug stores. I can't remember the order, but here's a laundry list of what he's done. To the emergency room for drugs and alcohol twice. One other time he drank a bunch of vodka and passed out outside in the pouring rain in winter wearing only shorts and a light jacket. The police found him after we called them to help look for him. He had hypothermia.

He was caught numerous times breaking curfew, he started sneaking out at age 12. He's toilet papered houses (no big deal), broke into cars, shoplifted (was arrested), had marijuana at school (arrested & suspended), had another knife on school property (arrested for it & trespassing), expelled for 1 1/2 years from school, DUI (driving while intoxicated, totalled the car only had it 3 weeks). There have been drug treatment programs and probation officers and most recently, jail.

This doesn't even begin to go into all of the parties he's had, damage to our neighbor's homes, trash in the yard, holes in the walls, broken door frames, scorched carpet, messes made, nights he kept us awake with friends coming in and out, legal fees, medical fees and fines.

Sounds very much like my oldest child who was a girl. Put us thru living hell. I have no relationship with her now and miss my 3 grandkids terribly.

Supposedly, he has, then doesn't have bipolar. His pdoc is a quack, but she prescribes him his ADHD meds, which he needs. Although, he tries to sell the extra ones.
