MDJunction to me

tomboykimi"What MD Junction means to me is a place where i can feel like im not alone. As someone with something as rare as hydrocephalus, it feels like im the only one in the world with it. When i came to MD, its like everyone has it. It doesnt feel like im alone. And that people need to hold up a sign to say what i have, because people know. And they understand. I can get questions answered from people who have been through it rather than from doctors or people who only can tell you from a physical standpoint. THat is what MD junction means to me." Welcome To My Life!!! =]]

Story of my pregnancy, my baby, and my life!!!

August 30th-September 03rd. Here We Go Again.

Sep 03 2010
Well, everything was going fine. I was feeling great, Carter was moving like crazy!! He is gonna be a kick boxer or a break dancer, I know it! Haha. Well, on August 29th, I drove up to Yakima to pick up my man. After staying the night, we were planning on driving back to the Tri-Cities the next day. Around 1:30pm, I started getting contractions again. They started off as just tightening, then the progressed into menstrual cramp feelings along with the tightening. Gordon could feel my stomach tightening up too. So I was waiting for them to go away, and they didn't. After an hour, I called my doctor and they wanted me to come in before 4:00pm. So, we left for the Tri-Cities to go to the doctor. On the way, I started to time them. 5 minutes apart. 5 minutes apart. 5 minutes apart. Over and over. Then it went down to 3 minutes apart. I was freaking out because the pain was also getting worse. It wasn't bad at all, but it was still getting worse. So we got to the doctor and he wasn't too worried about it. Told me to keep hydrated, take it easy, not to do much, and if they got really uncomfortable, to go to the hospital and get checked and put on monitors. So me and Gordon went up to my grandma's to stay the night and the contractions did NOT go away. They kept getting stronger, they were consistent, and they were getting more painful. I tried walking around, laying down, sitting down, taking a shower, EVERYTHING, and nothing would make them go away. Finally, we just laid down around 2:00am and sometime after that, I fell asleep. The next morning when we woke up, they were gone, but my muscles HURT. I can tell you, I was so relieved they were gone AND HAVEN'T COME BACK, but I'm really scared to do anything. I don't want to have my baby this early. But as of now, everything is fine. I'm feeling great, and Carter is moving all over, doing flips and rolling around. =]] He's a strong boy..

Yeah, just take it easy but if the doctor wasn't worried and didn't tell you to change anything I wouldn't worry about it too much. Sometimes that will happen, I had the same thing happen to me (but I was already full term and dying to go into labor!) but I was having contractions for over 15 hours, 4-6 minutes apart. The further along you get BH contractions will get more regular, like on a daily basis.

Yeah, I heard Braxton Hicks weren't supposed to hurt so I was worried that they were real contractions. They kept getting closer and more intense. I'm really hoping they were just Braxton Hicks. Or if they were real, that they don't come back.

Well if they were real they wouldn't have stopped, so don't worry about that. Everyone's pain tolerance is different, some people say braxton hicks are very painful (until they get real contractions!) and others don't even notice 1 BH contraction until real labor, so it differs person to person. I found a couple of my BH contractions painful as I started nearing the end, but usually they were more uncomfortable. What really hurts is this vaginal pain you get in the end, like I would be crying every night from it.

Really?? And yeah, the contractions I was feeling were more uncomfortable than anything, they hurt a little bit, but felt more like period cramps.

Yeah that's usually what BH contractions feel like, period cramps. Not all the time, but a lot of the time. Really contractions will tend to kind of start in your back and then go to your belly.
