Good news, bad news

Oct 24 2010

I have been on the real Savella for 12 days now and have been virtually PAIN FREE for most of those days.  I have also lost a total of 10 pounds! without even trying, had only mild nausea and felt better than I have in years. That is the really GOOD news.

Now for the bad news. I cannot stop sweating!!! In the beginning I thought to myself, 'okay I can deal with this sweating because I don't HURT.' Now twelve days in I am starting to feel like the hot flashes followed by extreme sweating is like some kind of torture! I have kept track and all day and all night, every 45 to 60 minutes I heat up, drip sweat and become so uncomfortable I have to undress, wipe down and put on dry clothes....I have tried to increase my water intake thinking all that perspiring can't be good for me causing constipation for one thing and who knows about my organs heating up and drying out! I have lowered the dose back down from 50mg to 25mg then to 12.5 and again to 6.25 hoping the sweating would subside or stop but so far no luck.

I am pain free though........so am I complaining? no but realistically can I continue to sweat like this everyday? I wonder if anyone who has been on the Savella for a while can tell me does the sweating go away????

If not I will have to decide if I this is the drug for me....
