Now I am scared.... |
Jul 23 2010 |
I had these weird episodes started happening tonight. I was asleep and I woke up (but I wasn't awake), sat up, my eyes open and started screaming about spiders and webs. I seen them on thewall and hanging from the ceiling, but they were not really there. It happened twice. I do not know what is going on with that, but I remember the images vividly and even seeing my boyfriend there, but I don't remember what I did or what I was doing. It's so scary. Does anyone know what happens or what that is?

Have you had a med change recently? If not, I would still call my pdoc and discuss--it sounds like a med is messing with your head at night. I hope you don't have anymore of those dreams. Hugs,

I know how scary that can be, I use to do the same thing. Turns out, it was a sleeping pill I was taking, ambien cr. It was like the med. just couldn't keep me completely asleep. I would sleepwalk and get up and do things and barely remember what I did the next day but I knew I got up. Maybe it is one of your meds.?

I went thru the Hypnagogic State thing, the first time when I was adjusting or coming off of a drug. I was just told that my sleep patterns were altered and that it would get better. Some of the images were straight out of sci-fi horror movies............no plot, no scenery, just the monsters. It's the one time when I had just had enough and it thankfully stopped. I was afraid to shut my eyes at night.
Now, I'm dealing with the hypnagogic hallucinations from narcolepsy. These aren't great but they're not monstrous just weird. The first night I noticed them, I was doing a term paper and around 3 in the morning I noticed out of the corner of my eyes that there were all these giant people sitting around the room. I figured out pretty quickly that these were some sort of hallucinations. But I had no choice but to stay up because my paper was due that day. I suppose though that I would have been more upset if I'd turned my head and the hallucinations were still there.........ugh.
