MDJunction to me

imsoblue"I was completely bewildered when I received my diagnosis of HH and cirrhosis. For so many years I had been told that what I was feeling was due to "old age", and I am 61 years old. I knew nothing about hemochromatosis or what to expect and even my family doctor did not have a clue. I found MDJ when I started to search on the internet. I have received so much compassion and education here. I am most grateful that I had the support from the cirrhosis group when I had my first episode of HE. I now know what I need to do to try keep this from happening. (lactulose). I feel very close to the people here. My goal is to educate people about HH and to support those affected by it. I read people's posts and I can just sense when people are feeling that absolute bewilderment. Thank you so much for all that all of you do for others." (imsoblue)

What I learned

Feb 16 2012
My husband and I went away for an over night. It was so nice, I thought of the time when we were dating. Just him and me.  This was the first time we left the kids alone, they are old enough now.  As I look back I see how raising them took alot of time  away from our relationship, but that's as it should have been. Over the years we did go out on dates.  We did many good things for our relationship. It's just so different, a good different now that we have more time together again. We are eating dinner with just the two of us more and more.   I can be his girl again.

Yes, you are his girl again. Of course, you always were, but as life plays out and different chapters are added to our book of life, our attentions are directed where they need to be at the time it is happening.
Beautiful chapters.
Then, one day, we notice there is more time to rekindle the love of our youth. It is so much sweeter because we get to add the deep love that has occurred thru out the years.
May you and he grow ever closer.
