NOT THE TYPE OF SUPPORT I WAS EXPECTING

Finding out that talk is cheap. People say they will go any length to support you in your recovery. Only to find the people that want to support you are still sneaking off to get high. Kind of sad. Thought it would work. Is this a selfish feeling? Or is it self concern? Expectations suck.

In recovery, it is suggested that you remove yourself from all of your old playmates and play-places. You cannot expect for them to understand your recovery if they are not in it too. Have yourself a network of family, and go to a program to create a new network of people that you can call when you are feeling weak.
Recovery IS selfish...or you would not be doing it.
Your recovery MUST be selfish, or it will not work. Put 100% of the effort into yourself, and not what others are doing.
