With all my health issues its nice to know that I am not alone, suffering form fibromyalgia, depression, and costochondritis with anxiety is a nightmare. Having the great people here at MDjunction is so great its hard to put into words. I dont think I would be getting through what I am going through without this great resource. I think everyone should know about mdjunction!" (Fmsdaddy)

To a Mom of a Son in Denial

Jun 19 2012
He sounds like he is a rebel without a cause right now!  I went through a similar time when I was 16, hated my mom, ran away from home, hung out in pool halls and drove my mom even further intoher drinking.

My former partner, Barbara, had a daughter that went through the period of incorrigibility and she and her former husband chose to have her legally emancipated (be on her own).  However, she grew out of it, had a child, and we visited the family in Tucson and mom and daughter were as loving as can be.

Maybe, just maybe, this is a passing phase.  Does dad have a relationship with him where they can talk, man-to-man, about what's going on?

My mom took me to a psychiatrist after I came back from my month-long running away from home and I sat down and poured out my mind to him.  He even let me have a smoke.

My kinda doc.
